It is one of these hot summer days in the fjords when Einar receives his new rune tattoo on the wrist.
The staff is humming and ratteling while the runes enter the skin with blood.
After the work is done we gather a crew and row out in the fjords with the evening chill.
Proud the skull of the horned on the bow of the ship.
When the oars fall silent and just the waterfalls occupy the silence, Einar takes out the Lyra and starts singing and receiting. The mountains answer with reverb. Magic.
I have seen Wardruna on different stages and with different settings, but whenever the songs are embedded in a ceremonial context or performed in a historical surrounding the effect of the music is strongest on me.
